Brainstorm Blog #3: Daydream Video Project

In class watching the videos of animations, especially the Dumbo Pink Elephants scene, it reminded me of the Ratatouille scene of Remy trying the strawberries and cheese and tasting fireworks. I have a pet bunny (Thumper) and am planning to film the first 30 seconds in reality. Thumper wakes up, stretches/hops around and comes to me asking for a treat. I will hand him one treat and then it will transition into an animation. I will draw Thumper eating the first treat and have fireworks and swirls around him. In the animation I’ll hand him another treat and different colored swirls and fireworks will surround him. Finally I'll give him both treats together and it will be explosive, multiple colors swirling around him showing how good they both taste together. The animation will end by zooming into his head and in reality I'll start the video zooming out of his head and film him sleeping with all the treats around him. I want to hand draw all the animations and get some sound files for background music. I’m excited to start this project and to try to make this animation inspired by the ratatouille scene, but also making it my own. I still haven't decided if I want the first half in reality and then transitions to the animation, then switches back to reality for the ending or if I want to keep switching back and forth between reality and daydream.
