A little bit about me... I'm Ellen Roloson and I live in Lake Forest, IL. I’m currently a Junior at the University of Colorado Boulder. My passion for art began at a very young age, doodling with chalk on the sidewalk or finger painting reflected my passion as a young artist. My love for art continues to grow larger with the encouragement from family and friends. To me it’s something undefinable, art is imaginative, a tool we can use to express beauty in ordinary places and things. I love learning new mediums that I have never done before. I am fortunate to have art as a hobby as it surrounds me with complete peace and at times with vivid creativity. My graphics really began my Freshman year of high school in my Graphic Design class. My work throughout high school and especially during my senior year, in which I created ten art pieces on the topic of my summer home in Leland, Michigan. It went on to gain attention from my classmates which sparked my teacher to submit some of my work into local galleries and magazines. My work for the past six years has, for the majority, consisted of Graphic Design and mediums like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate. It's difficult for me to say exactly, but my style has always consisted of a minimalist art style, a theme of Pop Art. I would like to broaden my knowledge of design and the world that art is beyond my experiences.
